Getting acquainted with the new girl

Mother's Day at Murphy Candler Park
Stella makes no excuses for enjoying a fine bowl of chocolate pudding

Don't you wish you could sleep like that? Not a care in the world...
Stella working out with her exercise ball-how do you think she keeps that figure with the amount of chocolate pudding she ingests?
Daddy and Sophia
Stella has become nostalgic about her old baby toys

And also a little possessive-this is my nursing pillow that she is using as a seat

Sisters
Notice the stickers that Stella used to decorate Sophia

Feeding the ducks with Daddy

So....I know it has been awhile, but we have been a little busy around these parts.
You know you are the mom of a newborn (the second time around)when:
  • You are getting ready to take a shower in the morning and find a breast pad stuck to your leg.
  • You are driving your toddler to school and actually have to ponder whether or not you are wearing real pants or pajama pants.
  • You let your toddler have Cheerios for lunch because you are too tired to make something else and you can't remember if she had breakfast anyway. And you have Cheerios, too, because it is fast and easy and you have about 10 minutes before the new kid wants to eat again.
  • You can't remember when you slept for more than three hours at a time.
  • You can't remember the new kid's name.
  • You consider buying Depends because you can't seem to find the time to go to the bathroom.
  • You spend most of your days washing sheets, soaking stained clothes, and changing diapers and outfits (including your own) due to bodily fluids that may or may not be yours.
  • You wonder what was going through your head when you decided to do this again when you already had a great kid that sleeps through the night and feeds herself and can verbalize her needs.
  • You think anyone that has more than two kids is a saint.
  • You look at the new kid and realize that this newborn phase will pass and she will be as delightful as the first one was to watch growing up. In fact, it will be even more fun because you get to watch them grow up together and that is pretty cool to think about.
